Although Destination Chic-Chocs’ primary vocation is managing salmon fishing on the magnificent Sainte-Anne River, our organization also provides services to SÉPAQ. In 2001, under an integrated management agreement, we became responsible for, among other things, the maintenance of trails and huts, as well as transport activities on the Gaspésie National Park’s long-distance hiking network. The terms of the contract have changed over the years, but we continue to offer our services to SÉPAQ.

During the summer season, our field activity attendants transport clients and their luggage to their starting points on the park’s long-distance hiking trail network. Transport is provided via a 15-passenger minibus on gravel roads to huts as remote as La Chouette and La Nyctale at the foot of Mount Logan.

During the winter season, attendants transport only the luggage of clients setting off on an adventure on the park’s snow-covered trails. These transfers are carried out by snowmobile in sometimes extreme conditions! It goes without saying that our attendants possess exceptional experience with the local conditions and terrain to successfully carry out their resupply missions, ensuring clients can continue their hike.

Our attendants ensure that everything is in order to keep clients safe, which is particularly essential during the winter season!

Here are the long-distance hiking field activity attendants for the 2022-2023 winter:

  • Éric Martin
  • Éric Ouellet
  • Félix Pelletier
  • Vincent Marquis
  • Tommy Landry

The following photos demonstrate the breathtaking beauty of the landscapes as well as the difficulty level of the work during the winter season!
